Privacy policy

Applies to the KuDownloader desktop application and the KuDownloader browser extension.

Summary

KuDownloader does not collect, store on any server, sell or share personal data. There are no accounts, analytics or advertising.

The extension communicates only with the KuDownloader application installed on the same computer, through the browser’s native messaging channel.
When you hand a download, video or link to KuDownloader, the extension passes the address, the page it came from, and the cookies of that download’s own website so downloads that need your signed-in session keep working. This information stays on your computer.
The extension’s own settings are kept in the browser’s extension storage on your device.
The extension does not track browsing, inject advertising, or send anything to the developer or third parties.

Download history, queues and settings are stored locally on your computer.
The app connects to the servers you download from, and, when you ask it to, to GitHub to check for updates and to download yt-dlp and FFmpeg from their official releases.
No usage data or crash reports are sent anywhere.
